Using Jour
How do I add a city?
Tap the place name at the top of the screen, then Add city, and search for it. The same capsule switches between your cities. Remove one in Settings, under Cities.
Why does Jour ask for my location?
To show the weather where you are. The location is only sent to the weather services to fetch the forecast for that spot. If you would rather not share it, add the cities you want instead. You can change your mind any time in the Settings app, under Privacy & Security, Location Services, Jour.
Where does the forecast come from?
From Open-Meteo, which runs the models of the national weather services. By default Jour picks the finest model for each place. To choose one yourself, open Settings (your picture, top right) and tap the source under your name.
Why don't I see any weather warnings?
Jour shows official warnings in Europe, from MeteoAlarm, and in the United States, from the National Weather Service. Elsewhere there are none in Jour yet. When there is a warning for where you are, it appears at the top of the forecast.
Can I change the units?
Yes, in Settings: Celsius or Fahrenheit, and wind in km/h, m/s, mph or knots.
Jour Pro
What does Jour Pro add?
The rain radar, the widgets for the Home Screen and the Lock Screen, and the Apple Watch app. Everything else in Jour is free.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Jour. To show a different city, touch and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold it, tap Customize, then the Lock Screen and the space for widgets.
My widgets still say "Jour Pro"
Open Jour once after buying Jour Pro, so it can tell the widgets. If they still show the lock a minute later, open Settings in Jour and tap Restore purchases.
How do I get Jour on my Apple Watch?
Open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Available Apps and install Jour. The watch app is part of Jour Pro. It takes your cities and units from your iPhone. If it does not unlock, open Jour on your iPhone, or tap Restore purchases on the watch.
I bought Jour Pro, but my new phone does not have it
Open Settings in Jour and tap Restore purchases. Jour Pro comes back as long as you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings in Jour and tap Manage next to Jour Pro, or open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Jour. You keep Jour Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What happens to my data?
Almost nothing leaves your phone, and there is no account. The whole story is on the privacy page.
